spring flingin'

Yesterday was our Spring Fling!! I was lucky enough to get on the black team with Lynch and Tess but I only wish my team could have been 100% E-Ville. I do like getting the chance to meet girls from other leagues without necessarily playing against them but I did feel a small twinge of guilt when I bulldozed my own ladies. Oh well!! It just makes me more excited for when I get to play when them!! EXCITEDNESS!!
Anyway, team black kicked some serious ass. SERIOUSLY. We rocked. I had such a fun time.

I only hope next year it isn't on the same weekend as comicon.

New Skater Night

This is a great opportunity for everyone who is interested in roller derby but has been too timid to try on some skates! It's a free event, and open to any ladies 18+. Not a lady? No worries! We're looking for support staff too (ie; refs).
If you have any of the following bring them!:
knee pads
elbow pads
wrist guards
helmet
quad skates

We will have some safety equipment available to borrow and the facility will have skates. Plus you get to hang out with me all evening!

This winter has been particularly hard on me. More frustrating and depressing than any of the 21 winters I've lived through. Perhaps it's because it just won't fucking end.
I can't even think about what the weather would be like in Vancouver right now because I'd just get mad at myself for ever moving back to Edmonton.
But I love Edmonton!! I really do! Every summer I remember why I put myself through 8 months of gross weather every year. It always feels worth it then. But not right now. Oh no. I am so mad at my city right now. I am so good to you Edmonton, and this is how you repay me? MINUS TEN AT THE END OF APRIL?? ARE YOU SERIOUS?? WHY??????? WHY????????????? WHY???????????????????????????????????????????

Spring Fling 2008

This just isn't an event for skaters, everyone is more than welcome to come watch. I believe it is 5 bucks for spectators. You know you want to come watch me kick butt/get my butt kicked.

People are really gross.

Man some people are so lazy and gross.

2 museum stories from today.

A woman just came (walked) in to the museum and asked for one of our complimentary wheelchairs. There was nothing wrong with this lady (save for a bad case of obesity) but I call for it anyway. Then she complains that we don't have motorized wheelchairs. There is seriously nothing wrong with this lady!! She's just fat and lazy!! People do this allll the time. One time this lady came in with like a hundred children and got a wheelchair from us and made her kids push her. They were like 6. If you're obese and you're obviously making an effort to stay that way I have no sympathy for you.

Number 2.
This woman came in with 3 of the grossest children I have ever seen. While I was putting them though one of them sneezed and got boogers all down their face. Instead of waiting and then taking the kid to the bathroom to wipe it's fac e she wiped off the snot with her hand and then continued to hand me her debit card and touch the pin pad ALL WITH HER BOOGER HANDS!! AHHHH!! As soon as she left I lysol wiped ever inch of my work area and santized my hands like 6 times. EWWWWWWWWW. EWWWWWWWWWWWW. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

In other news, WINTER IS FINALLY OVER! Shorts every day till October, suckas! Bike rides all the time!!!
