One of these days I'll have to take a vacation where I actually relax. Or have a day off that isn't dominated by errands and laundry.
This morning I almost fell out of my chair a couple of times because I kept dozing off at the desk. It's not my fault the only time I get to do laundry is 2 in the morning! Of course the dryer is broken too.. so I have to hang EVERYTHING. I should do laundry more often than every few months. OH GOD LAUNDRY IS CONTROLLING MY LIFE!!

My bus home from work yesterday smelt unmistakably like celery salt.

great fun of mammoth proportions
I've been working at the museum for the past little while and though I can't say it is always the most...exciting place to work it's definately the best fucking job I could ask for. I pretty much just sit on the internet all day, but I'm being well compensated for my time! VERY WELL!
There is definately a fair amount of crazy people that come in though. Weird bug people. Or animal skull people.
There was one woman who called over and over again trying to get a hold of the bug guy and became angrier and angrier until I started transferring her to random people until she got through to someone.. the botanist I think. She ended up showing up at my desk with a spider in a tupperware container.
People always think they have something thats worth something. They'll bring in random crap they find in their attics like this is the god damned Antiques Roadshow or something.
The archives used to be located in the same building so I've had to deal with irate old ladies pissed off I can't help them complete their family trees.
But these people make my job hilarious, and give me and the rest of the admissions staff good stories to exchange. One of the weekend security guards steals me cookies from government house too! Did I mention I am WELL COMPENSATED FOR MY TIME? Right now, your tax dollars are paying me to write this.
It does get boring though, that is why next weekend everybody in town should come during our free admission days (Dec.6th-9th) and save us all from 4 days of picking our noses and eating all the cake.
Did I mention there is cake?

bursting my bubble
The entire time I've ever lived in Edmonton (save for when I was really young with my parents) I've always lived in the same area. Not just residing, but working, living and basically rarely leaving an 8 block radius.
Due to major rent increases downtown, I'm moving across the river!! Weeeiiird!
I have to learn new bus routes and all that jazz. I hope I don't have to transfer stores:(
I'm sad. But kind of excited! EVERYDAY IS A NEW ADVENTURE FOR ME!!
...and adventure awaits!

so.. summers over. As much as it felt like it was just getting started the whole time I think I'm ready for fall.
mini accomplishments of the summer months:
-helllooo wristband tan
-actually left Edmonton once or twice
-operation bbq
- have you SEEN my wristband tan? It's awesome!!
I'm going to miss skating outside and more than 5 hours of daylight but you know what? I'm excited for Christmas.
